Welcome day for foreign students at the University of Sarajevo
After the suspension of outgoing and incoming mobility in the winter semester of 2020/2021, due to the coronary virus pandemic and the lack of favorable epidemiological conditions for normal travel, stay and teaching, the University of Sarajevo International Cooperation Service, in cooperation with Vice Deans and coordinators for international cooperation at UNSA organizational opened a competition for mutual mobility admission of foreign students to the summer semester of the 2020/2021.
Approximately 150 students of the University of Sarajevo were given the opportunity to stay abroad next semester. When it comes to foreign students, fifteen of them will stay at the University of Sarajevo next semester.
On that occasion, a Welcome Day was held for foreign students who will take the summer semester of the 2020/2021 to spend at our university, mostly through the Erasmus + program. Students come from France, Italy, Austria, Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Spain.
Due to epidemiological conditions, the Welcome Day was held online, and on that occasion the students were introduced to the University of Sarajevo, the city of Sarajevo, and provided with academic and practical information that will be used for faster and better navigation in the city. In cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network student association, foreign students are enabled to connect with local students in order to facilitate their stay and provide information about life in Sarajevo.
Foreign visiting students will stay at the University of Sarajevo until July 2021, when they officially finish their teaching obligations, and we hope that in that period they will achieve positive results and experience mobility experiences in Sarajevo and BiH, as well as former visiting students before the pandemic.
