Polish recognitions for the publications of the UNSA Institute for History
Since 2001, the Polish Historical Society - Branch in Krakow (Polskie Towarzystwo Historyczne - Oddział w Krakowie) and the Department of History of the Jagiellonian University (Wydział Historyczny Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego) have been awarding the Wacław Felczak Prize and the Henryk Wereszycki Prize dealing with the history of Central and Eastern Europe for works published in the last 3 years. The award is given every year, alternately to a Polish or foreign author, and this year foreign authors are awarded. In the competition for this year's award was the book “National Minorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1918-1941)” by our colleague Dr. Enes S. Omerović, which was published in the 2019 edition of the Institute of History.
In the first phase, the jury selected ten of the books submitted to the competition, and in the second phase, five books that were nominated for the main prize, which gave the Institute of History and colleagues Omerović recognition for their work and a large part. Books were nominated:

- Kale Slaven, Poles, our brothers in the north. Croatian public about Poles 1860–1903, Central Europe, Zagreb 2019,
- Friedl Jiří, Domů, and for freedom. Role Československa v migracích obyvatel Polska v letech 1945–1948, Praha 2020,
- Pollen in the European history. Band 3: Die polnisch-litauischen Länder unter der Herrschaft der Teilungsmächte (1772 / 1795–1914), red. Michael G. Müller, Igor Kąkolewski, Karsten Holste, Robert Traba, Stuttgart 2020,
- Hálek Jan, Mosković Boris, Phenomenon Maffie. Czech (domestic) anti-cancer repellency in the changes of the 20th Century, Prague 2020.
At the award ceremony held in Krakow on December 13, 2021, the main award was given to prof. Friedl Jiří for the book Domů, and for freedom. Role Československa v migracích obyvatel Polska v letech 1945–1948, and the honorary lifetime achievement award was given to prof. Michael G. Müller.
The Institute for History congratulates the winners of the main and honorary awards, as well as colleagues dr. Enes S. Omerović on the success and promotion of the Institute of History outside the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
