Meeting between Romanian Ambassador to BiH and University of Sarajevo Rector
Ambassador of Romania to BiH, H. E. Mr. Anton Pacuretu visited the University of Sarajevo on 20 September 2021, where he met with Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj. The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Mariana Pacuretu, Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Romania, and Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, University of Sarajevo.
During the meeting, strengthening ties through various models of academic and cultural cooperation, and intensifying cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and universities in Romania were discussed.
As part of the first official visit of Ambassador Pacuretu to the University of Sarajevo, Rector Škrijelj, with words of welcome, expressed gratitude for the visit and the expressed intention to improve cooperation. Speaking about the University’s international cooperation, Rector Škrijelj stated that the University of Sarajevo has signed agreements on academic cooperation with five universities in Romania: Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, University of Bucharest, Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Spiru Haret University and University of Craiova.
Also, during the meeting, ideas were exchanged on possible areas of cooperation, cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and universities in Romania, exchange of students and teachers, and opportunities to study Romanian language and culture at the University of Sarajevo.
University of Sarajevo Rector wished a successful diplomatic mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Romanians Ambassador. The meeting was ended with a strong mutual interest in achieving academic and cultural cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the universities in Romania.
