After nine years permanent solution: Campus heating taken over by KJKP "Toplane"
Today’s signing of the Agreement on the use and maintenance of the thermal power plant for the production of thermal energy between the University of Sarajevo and KJKP “Toplane”, and the Ministries of Education, Science and Youth and Communal Economy and Infrastructure permanently solved the long-standing heating problem on the UNSA Campus.
The contract was signed by Rector Rifat Škrijelj and "Toplane" acting Director Amel Đogić, and Ministers Anis Krivić and Nihada Glamoč, in the presence of Prime Minister Mario Nenadić.
According to this contract, UNSA will hand over the boiler room, substation, installations, equipment, ancillary premises and the distribution network on and off the campus to “Toplane” for the purpose of delivering thermal energy.
Heating from the “Toplane” system to the users of the facilities on the Campus will be established in a few days, i.e. after the regular service at the boiler room and substation.
Prime Minister Nenadić said that he was happy that the Government had finally solved this long-standing problem in a quality way, with clearly and in detail defined obligations of the signatories of the Agreement, which is why heating of Campus users will never be questioned again.
Rector Škrijelj emphasized that this contract permanently solved the problem, and it was waited for nine years, because in 2011 a decision was made by the KS Government that “Toplane” take over the boiler room on the Campus. Also, Rector Škrijelj reminded that two periods followed in 2011, which led to the final solution of the heating problem on the University Campus.
Minister Krivić pointed out that students will certainly feel the difference in better heating, and by switching to the "Heating Plant" system, savings on bills of around 350,000 BAM will be achieved annually.
As stated by Minister Glamoč, it is the obligation of the ministry she manages to provide funds in the budget for the design and reconstruction of the boiler room in the coming period, in order to ensure the best possible delivery of thermal energy.
“Toplane” Acting Director Đogić pointed out that the contract provides for the transfer of ownership of this company part of the land on which the boiler room is located. A large plant will be built there and to which a larger number of facilities will be connected, the construction of which is planned in the regulation plan.
