UNSA Senate Adopted University of Sarajevo Statute
The University of Sarajevo Senate at its 23rd Session of 12th October 2018 adopted the University of Sarajevo Statute.
The Commission for the Harmonization of the University of Sarajevo Statute with the Law on Higher Education submitted to the Senate written information on the conducted procedure for comparing the text of the Statute Proposal from the Session of 21 May 2018 with the text of the Proposal of the Statute which was discussed at the thematic session of the Senate held on 05 September 2018, with recommendations for adoption.
The Senate unanimously accepted the Commission’s proposal and adopted the final text of the Statute.
The University of Sarajevo Statute, in accordance with the regulations for the higher education and research activities in the Sarajevo Canton, regulates more precisely: activities, organization, mode of work, management, management, status of academic staff and other employees, student status, financing of work and other issues of relevance to the performance of higher education and scientific research at the University of Sarajevo.
The University of Sarajevo is the oldest higher education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the alma mater of all public universities in BiH and the main source and core of the spiritual, intellectual and creative power of the people of BiH and all its citizens, and that it represents an important link of a Bosnian society with a European tradition of academic freedom, self-government and autonomy.
The Statute will be delivered to the heads of organizational units, the Steering Committee and the Ministry of Education, Sarajevo Canton Science and Youth.
