Presentation “Hand in Hand for a Better Future” in 3rd Sarajevo Lyceum

At the celebration of the 69th National Day Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China & as one of the events of Confucius Day, a presentation named “Hand in Hand for a Better Future” was held in  3rd Sarajevo Lyceum.
 The event was hosted by Mrs. Senada Salihović, the principal of the school with a welcome speech. Dr. La Weixin, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at University of Sarajevo delivered the presentation on “Chinese Culture and Confucius Institute”, which covers the ancient Silk Road, “One belt, One Road” Initiative (BRI) proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Chinese culture & the development of Confucius Institute. In his lecture, Mr. La focused on Chinese language teaching, Summer Camp to China, Chinese Bridge(Chinese Competition) , HSK Test, Chinese government & Confucius Scholarship. He encouraged the listeners to learn Chinese language & cultures for the scholarship & study in China. The Confucius Institute at University of Sarajevo would like to take the role as the facilitator for the friendship & the win-win cooperation between China & BiH to promote the development of the “One Belt, One Road” Initiative. 
Mr. Luka, Chinese learner at Confucius Institute as well as one of excellent alumnus from Treća Gimnazija Sarajevo shared his cultural experiences in playing TaiChi, Chinese painting, Beijing Opera, Chinese Guqin & Erhu (both are traditional Chinese musical instruments) in 2017 Summer Camp to Beijing and Northwest Normal University in China. All the listeners were amused with great interest & curiosity. 
More than 130 students and teachers including Mrs. Sedžida Hadžić attended.
3rd Sarajevo Lyceum Principal, Mrs. Salihović expressed her best wishes to the Confucius Institute and the cooperation, saying that she hoped to carry out the planned cooperation & it would be a model of cooperation for other schools in Sarajevo and even in BiH. 
As a 1st teaching venue of Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo in 2018 as well as the 7th of all teaching venues of the institute, 3rd Sarajevo Lyceum will be running many events on Chinese language, ancient Chinese philosophy, Chinese history & geography, Chinese music & fine arts, martial arts & Tai Chi etc. All the programs will benefit both the teachers and students to know China and Chinese culture & enhance the foundation for further cooperation of two side, & promote the development of the “One Belt, One Road” Initiative.
