Expert Seminar for Islamic Religious Education Teachers Held at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences
On 14 and 15 January 2019, University of Sarajevo Faculty of Islamic Sciences organized and held the first, winter professional education part for Islamic religious education teachers in Sarajevo Canton for 2018/2019. The seminar was realized by the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, University of Sarajevo, on the basis of a Cooperation Memorandum signed with the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and Mufti Sarajevo Office, with the aim of key competencies professional improvement and development of Islamic religion teachers.
The education was implemented in two parts. Lecturers presented two main topics: Mission and Challenges of the Teacher's Call and Work with Children with Difficulties in Development. Five lecturers at the training were:
• Prof. Dr. Adnan Silajdžić, teacher at the Akaid, Tesavvuf and Comparative Religion Department at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences. His presentation was: How to talk about religion with young people;
• Prof. Dr. Izet Pehlić, Islamic Pedagogical Faculty in Zenica teacher and external associate at the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Islamic Sciences. His presentation was: Educational Challenges in Islamic Religious Studies Teaching Activities;
• Almira Gološ, Islamic religious education teacher at the “Čengić Vila 1” Elementary School. Her presentation was: Challenges of the teaching profession - experience from practice;
• Doz. Dr. Sc. Irma Džambo, Sarajevo Canton Health Center employee and practitioner, Her presentation was: Attention deficit - Hyperactive disorder;
• Doz. Dr. Sc. Haris Memišević, teacher at the Faculty of Pedagogy, University of Sarajevo and a long-time employee of the Institute for Special Education and Child Education “Mjedenica.” He presented two topics: Children with Developmental Disabilities: Intellectual Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
The program was attended by 117 Islamic religious education teachers and professors from Sarajevo Canton. They were in opportunity to attend lectures and actively participate in the discussion. Seminar was moderated by Ahmed Čolić, Assistant at the Religious Pedagogy and Psychology Department, UNSA Faculty of Islamic Sciences.
