Cooperation agreement between Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences and Caritas Switzerland in BiH Signed

On 28 November 2019, a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences (PPF), University of Sarajevo and Caritas Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina (CACH) was signed.
The agreement was signed by the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences Dean, Prof. Dr. Muhamed Brka and Caritas Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina Director Daniel Bronkal and CACH Senior Project Manager for Agriculture Mersiha Felić.
The cooperation is related to projects in the fields of agriculture, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Specific cooperation objectives include:
- Support academic research for master and doctoral students
- Facilitating practical classes for Faculty students
- Increasing interest in agriculture as a practical and academic subject for primary and secondary school students
- Ensure collaboration in research that is of interest to CACH and PPF
- Provision of a facility for the installation of 4 greenhouses of 50-100 m2, where all greenhouses will have a basic equipment package and geothermal heating will be installed at 2 of them.
- Research related to agronomic, agro-technical and agro-economic implications of early or late planting and harvesting of fruits or vegetables in greenhouses with heated geothermal energy and under different climatic conditions in BiH.
