Academy of Sciences and Arts of BiH new members

The Academy of Science and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ANUBiH) launched a procedure for the election of new members in 2017. The ANUBiH Electoral Assembly ANUBiH was held on 20 December 2018.

By secret voting for the regular ANUBiH members - academics, the current correspondent members of ANUBiH were elected:

1. Vladimir Beus, Biotechnical Sciences - forestry
2. Mirsada Hukić, Biomedicine and Health - Microbiology
3. Dževad Karahasan, Literature
4. Slavko Kukić, Social Sciences - Sociology, Politology
5. Ljerka Ostojić, Biomedicine and Health - Anatomy
6. Mirko Pejanović, Social Sciences - Political Sciences, Sociology
7. Miodrag Simović, Social Sciences – Law 
8. Asif Šabanović, Technical Sciences - Automatics
9. Mirjana Vuković, Natural Sciences - Mathematics
10. Enver Zerem, Biomedicine and Health Sciences - Internal Medicine

By secret ballot, from 19 candidates for the election in ANUBiH new members were elected:

2. Slobodan Blagojević, Literature
3. Fikret Čaušević, Social Sciences - Economics
4. Blagoje Govedarica, Humanities -Archeology
5. Rifat Hadžiselimović, Natural Sciences - Genetics
6. Senahid Halilović, Humanities - Linguistics
7. Hazim Hrvatović, Natural Sciences - Geology
8. Isak Karabegović, Technical Science - Mechanics
9. Marina Katnić-Bakaršić, Humanities - Linguistics
10. Radivoj Mandić, Architecture
11. Izet Smajević, Technical Sciences -Mechanics

By public balloting, into domestic members (BH citizens who permanently reside abroad) were elected:

1. Adnan Čustović, Biomedicine and Health - Pediatric Allergology
2. Svjetlana Fajfer, Natural Science - Physics
3. Adnan Ibrahimbegović, Technical Sciences - Civil Engineering
4. Mehmed Kantardžić, Technical Sciences - Computer Science and Computing
5. Ivan Markešić, Social Sciences - Sociology
6. Gordan Srkalović, Biomedicine and Health - Oncology
7. Mihra Taljanović, Biomedicine and Health - Radiology

In the status of international ANUBIH members, the following candidates are elected by public vote:

2. Jagoda Buić, ambience art; (Republic of Croatia)
3. Ivo Goldstein, Social Sciences - History; (Republic of Croatia)

5. Joseph Straus, Social Sciences - Law; (Federal Republic of Germany)

The Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina will promptly notify the public and the media about the date of a solemn Session to promote newly elected members.
