Scientific conference dedicated to the development of scientific disciplines at the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo
As part of activities marking the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, on 27 September 2021, a scientific conference was held on the topic: “Development of scientific disciplines at the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo.”
The conference was opened by Prof. Dr. Hajrija Sijerčić-Čolić, Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, and Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović, Vice Rector of the University of Sarajevo.
Recalling that the scientific gathering was organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, Dean Sijerčić-Čolić stated: “The program of the scientific gathering is very rich and divided according to the departments that exist at the Faculty. In this regard, today's considerations in relation to the development of scientific fields at the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo revolve around topics that deserve attention: general specifics of academic education and legal studies, results achieved, current opportunities and future challenges. She also pointed out that, taking into account the program of the scientific conference, one can expect various discussions on the connection of legal, political-economic, historical and social processes that are the backbone of studying legal sciences both in BiH and abroad.”
In her welcome address, Vice Rector Husremović stated that the University of Sarajevo was honored to make a modest contribution to the organization of this important gathering which will enable leading scientists and researchers to share their experiences, research and scientific knowledge regarding the development of scientific disciplines at the best and most prestigious educational institution. in the field of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The University of Sarajevo fully supports the goals of this scientific gathering and is aware of the need for a systematic insight into the development of scientific disciplines to gain insight into possible directions for the development of legal sciences in the future, with special reference to the complex legal context of Bosnia and Herzegovina." Therefore, I am convinced that all participants, professors and experts, as well as students, will use the full potential of this scientific conference for the benefit of their academic and professional activities. Only joint efforts, within the framework offered by this gathering today, can enable significant progress in the various scientific fields to which we belong. Take this opportunity and consider all relevant topics and issues without any restrictions in order to make today's work as successful and fruitful as possible,”said Vice-Rector Husremović.
The aim of the scientific conference "Development of scientific disciplines at the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo" is to analyze and evaluate the development of teaching and scientific disciplines at the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, with special emphasis on the last two decades in the development of study programs. Three sessions were held within the scientific conference:
- Development of scientific disciplines at the Department of State and International Public Law,
- Development of scientific disciplines at the Department of Civil Law and the Department of Criminal Law,
- Development of scientific disciplines at the Department of Legal and Economic Sciences and the Department of Legal History and Comparative Law.
In addition to the academic staff of the Faculty, the meeting was attended by professors who worked at the Faculty in the past period or particularly intensively cooperated with the Faculty.
