US universities representatives visited the Faculty of Islamic Sciences and the University of Sarajevo
At the end of 2018, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo (FIN), as a representative of the University of Sarajevo, became part of the Barzanji project, which was initiated with the aim of academic inspiration of positive social changes. At the beginning of February 2019, a delegation from the University of Sarajevo visited the US University and College together with a delegation from Malaysia. The delegation was composed of Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović, Vice-Rector for Research, Dr. Haris Cerić, Faculty of Political Sciences professor, Mujesira Zimić-Mljiva, member of FIN's administration, Ahmed Čolić, FIN assistant, and Alma Memić, student of FIN. The participants discussed the topic of the program for this year: “The Role of the University in Civil Discourse.”
The visit was received by representatives of US universities in March, and a formal reception was held at the University by the Rector and Vice-Rectors, and at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Zuhdija Hasanović, and Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. hfz. Aida Smajić. On this occasion, the hosts met delegates with numerous projects related to the topic of civil discourse, such as inter-religious master studies, which contributed to discussions on the further development of the joint program. The visit was completed by planning future steps in the field of cooperation.
