The Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo
The Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Damijan Sedar, responded to the official invitation to visit the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Philosophy and the Lectorate for the Slovenian Language at the Faculty of Philosophy. He was hosted by the Vice Dean for Scientific Research, International Academic Cooperation and Publishing Prof. Dr. Amir Duranović, Prof. Dr. Adijata Ibrišimović Šabić on behalf of the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature, as well as the lecturer of the Slavic language Mr. Sc. Pavel Ocepek.
For the seventh year in a row, the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo has been operating the Lectorate for the Slavic Language within the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. The participants presented to the ambassador the work of the Faculty, the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature, as well as the work of the lectureship, and introduced him to the previous work and working conditions. There was also talk about students at the lectureship because every year a significant number of students study Slovenian, this year there are 81. The interlocutors were of the opinion that this type of academic cooperation is necessary to open the door not only to language but also to inter-institutional exchange, cultural contacts and , above all, the further development of today's so important scientific thought.
The visit and conversation took place in a friendly and collegial spirit, which confirms the realization that the work of the lectureship is not only important for the academic environment but also that it has a positive impact on bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia. As it was an inaugural visit, mutual desire and interest for continued communication and cooperation in the coming period was expressed.
