The role and importance of publishing and library activities in the field of science and higher education

On Wednesday, 24October 2018, prof. Sanja Burić, Vice-Rector for Arts, Culture and Sports, University of Sarajevo, visited the National and University Library of BiH where she met with the Director, Ismet Ovčina. 
During the Vice-Rector’s Burić visit to the National and University Library of BiH, Ismet Ovčina informed Prof. Burić in detail about the resources, activities and plans of the Library, as well as the problems arising from the still unresolved legal and financial status of this institution.
Vice-Rector Sanja Burić showed great interest in continuing cooperation with the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
One of the topics discussed at the meeting was the implementation of a project “Making a University of Sarajevo’s Monograph” on the occasion of marking the 70th University of Sarajevo’s anniversary. Dr. Ismet Ovčina give to the newly-elected Vice-Rector current editions of NUBBiH, including the annually published magazine “Bosniaca” where scientific papers, as well as systematized material of great importance for the reconstruction of the collection libraries and the library profession as a unit get to see the daylight.
Since 2018, this B-H Library Magazine has been indexed into the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) database, the new Web of Science ™ platform.
