Lecture by Pianists Marialena Fernandes and Ranko Marković Held at the UNSA Academy of Music
At the UNSA Academy of Music on 27 November 2024, internationally renowned pianists Marialena Fernandes and Ranko Marković held a lecture on the specificities and relationship between compositional and arranging practice, and the position and role of the piano in the context of the Viennese school through a special phenomenon of performance practice of the late 19th and early 20th centuries - arranging, performing and listening to various musical works in arrangements for piano four-hands as everyday musical interactions of that era ubiquitous in bourgeois and aristocratic salons.
The lecture and concert, titled ‘Schönberg@home - and Bruckner is also invited!’, were realized on the occasion of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Arnold Schönberg and the 200th anniversary of the birth of Anton Bruckner, and in cooperation with the Academy of Music of the University of Sarajevo and the Austrian Cultural Forum.
