On the occasion of celebrating the University of Sarajevo Day, the 2018/2019 concert season and Music Academy in Sarajevo’s String Orchestra in cooperation with soloists Amila Ravkić (mezzosoprano), Sakiba Lačević (flute) and Sanjin Salčin (clarinet) will perform the works of composers whose activities and opuses left marks on this educational musical educational institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from its day one till today.
A concert featuring works by composers, whose compositional and overall social activities marked the history of music in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be held at the Music Academy in Sarajevo, in the Central Music School Hall on Friday, 14 December 2018 at 19:30.
The composition in Bosnia and Herzegovina does not have a long-standing tradition like the developed societies of the West; his development began with the arrival of the Austro-Hungarian authorities at the end of the 19th century. But it will pass from that moment and several decades before it becomes a serious activity capable of its artistic value to guarantee its survival, further development and a secure place in society. The program of the concert will present the audience through a period of strong development of the composition of the 60s of the 20th century, which continued to this day.
In desire to point out the extremely important role of the Academy of Music of the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a co-creator of what makes us present, and, hopefully, relevant in the world of art, the 2018/2019 concert season, String Orchestra under the conductor Darija Vučić and soloists from the Music Academy, University of Sarajevo devotes this concert to all its former professors, without which this institution and everything that it is, would not exist.

Welcome!
