The traditional and international 13th Scholarship fair has been held
The International Relations Office of the University of Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of France, Campus France and the French Institute, and with the support of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton, organised the 13th Scholarship Fair, which was held on Wednesday, 25 October 2023 in the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo.
The fair was opened by Prof. Ph.D. Rifat Škrijelj, the rector of the University of Sarajevo, who emphasises that the University of Sarajevo, through its International Relations Office, has been proudly organising this fair for 13 years intending to promote education and provide information about the opportunities our students have abroad.
"In the past five academic years, we have sent over 1,500 students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the University of Sarajevo to partner higher education institutions, and we have hosted over 800 foreign students and university staff. The most represented program is certainly Erasmus+, in which our university signs agreements with 230 higher education institutions", said Rector Škrijelj, expressing his satisfaction that the University of Sarajevo today hosts representatives of institutions from 18 countries.
H.E. Mr. François Delmas, Ambassador of France in B&H, stressed the successful cooperation with the University of Sarajevo and stated that every year, more and more BH students study in France. "It is essential for students to offer them that they can spend one part of their schooling abroad," Ambassador Delmas emphasised.
"This year, we are honorary guests and will have direct meetings with students. We also brought representatives of our university agency, and there are representatives of nine French universities", Ambassador Delmas emphasised and announced a call to allocate French scholarships for Master and Doctoral Studies. Information in this regard will be available in the French Institute.
"We are glad that there is already a great interest of students from Bosnia and Herzegovina to study in France. I think that is very good for them and their education because in France there are very high-quality universities, there is a quality life living there, and I think such exchanges of students are significant, "he stressed:" International exchange is vital. We need to establish exchanges in research and scientific visits and programs. And partnerships, achieved at the student and university level, are important and valuable for all ".
In a statement to the media, Prof. Ph.D. Enita Nakaš, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University of Sarajevo, has pointed out that the Scholarship Fair of the University in Sarajevo is a unique opportunity for students to see what the University of Sarajevo offers them and what options have. "What is most important for us is that our students realise that practically through the University of Sarajevo, can get world education, I can go back to his university and in his city," said the University of Sarajevo All the steps needed to all achieved results that our students achieve during exchange, whether it is the first, second, integrated or third cycle of studies, are practically recognised, and even if only internship programs are also working recognised and visible in the appendix of their diploma. "
It also underlined that international cooperation is the most important for the rapid transformation of society because education only requires a certain amount of time to see the results of quality or non-performing education.
The importance of the 13th Scholarship Fair has recognised 55 exhibitors from 18 countries.
The scholarship fair aimed to gather all the institutions that allocate and / or administer the scholarship or assign other types of financial support for studying in BiH and abroad, and to present their scholarship and financial support programs and the opportunity to visit all the information on the possibilities Scholarning of further education in BiH or abroad is obtained in one place.
This year, scholarship programs are available to our students, teaching / scientific and non-teaching staff, and those who want to continue their education, professionally improving or being further educated abroad.
Most exhibitors (institutions and universities) who presented their funding programs come from the Republic of France. One of the goals of the fair is the intensification of cooperation and connecting the academic community of the University of Sarajevo with the academic community of the Republic of France.
