In memoriam: Ljubica Ostojić
Professor, writer, drama pedagogue and playwright Ljubica Ostojić died in Sarajevo at the age of 76 after a short illness. In her long and fruitful writing career, she has published numerous books for children and youth, collections of poems and stories, and dramatic texts, most of which have been premiered on the stages of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and the Department of Comparative Literature-Theatrology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo. Along with poetry, she left the deepest trace in the Sarajevo and Mostar theaters. She worked as a playwright at the Youth Theater, and is one of the permanent collaborators of the Mostar Youth Theater. She also worked as a theater critic in the magazines "Odjek" and "Književna revija", and in the dailies "Oslobođenje" and "Večernje novine". From 1994 to 2016, she spent time at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo as a full professor of Practical Dramaturgy, where she successfully participated in the maturing of generations of young playwrights and playwrights. Her poetry, criticism and radio plays have been translated into English, Albanian, German, Hungarian, Macedonian, Turkish, Slovenian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Greek and French. Since 1974, he has been a member of the Writers' Association of BiH, and since 2007, he has also been a member of P.E.N. Center. He has won several literary and theatrical awards and recognitions, including MESS's Golden Laurel Wreath for his contribution to the art of theater (2012) and the International Award for his contribution to the development of drama education "Grozdanin kikot" (2000).
