Faculty of Political Sciences UNSA | The first generation of students successfully implemented practical work in the Index TV studio

The first generation of third-year students of the Communication/Journalism Department of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo successfully completed their practical work in the newly founded television studio for students - Index TV. In this way, thirty students, within the course of TV journalism, experienced working in conditions similar to those that will await them on the labor market.

Given that improving the education of future communication specialists and media professionals is an imperative of the modern information and communication environment, valuable innovative steps in practical teaching are also necessary, such as the establishment of a television studio for Communication/Journalism students. This, furthermore, narrows the space for criticism about the inadequacy of practical teaching in higher education institutions, and at the same time prepares better staff for the profession of communication specialist, journalist or public relations specialist.

The benefits of establishing a television studio for students are primarily reflected in the improvement of their knowledge and skills, but also the competence of the teaching staff. Also, the improvement of the infrastructure of the Faculty of Political Sciences and the University of Sarajevo is a benefit, which increases the visibility and better reputation of these institutions. By making additional efforts to better prepare students for their future profession, one can expect an increase in the employability of students in the communication and media sector after completing their studies.
