The 9th international staff training week at UNSA ended with trips to Mostar and Trebević
To promote the Erasmus program and to network the University of Sarajevo with higher education institutions throughout Europe, the Department for International Cooperation of the University of Sarajevo organized the Ninth International Training Week for foreign teaching and non-teaching staff in the period from July 3 to 7, 2023. On this occasion, the University of Sarajevo hosts 70 participants, representatives of 39 higher education institutions from 13 countries (Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey).
On the fifth day of the 9th staff week, the participants had the opportunity to choose one of the two offered options for activities outside the University.
A group of 38 participants went to Mostar, where they participated in the International Day of the University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar. After the welcoming speech of the vice-rector for international cooperation, prof. Ph.D. Rijad Novaković, and presentations on the work of the Office for International Cooperation, prepared by Mirsada Behram, head of the Office; the guests were presented with the experiences of students who stayed on Erasmus mobility, as well as the projects of students in the field of Economics and Information Technology (marketing campaign: I don't want to I'll just be a number at the Work Bureau and Ministry of Marketing), as well as the Mimea team's success as a 2023 Imagine Cup World Finalist in creating a digital panel for people diagnosed with dementia. After the enjoyable International Day, the international guests walked around the city with a tourist guide to introduce Mostar and learn interesting facts about this part of Herzegovina.
Another group of participants chose the Stay Active and Refreshed tour. Although conceived as an escape from the summer heat (Refreshed), the tour was still held despite the cloudy weather and included a cable car ride, a walk on Mount Trebević, a tour of the Olympic bobsleigh track, as well as a walk in the forest and on a mountain path. As an environment with natural oxygen, the group stayed in this green paradise, only 11 minutes away from the city crowd, exchanged positive experiences, and enjoyed socializing.
These activities ended the 9th staff week, which, according to our guests' comments, once again achieved success in presenting our University, designing an interesting five-day program, choosing topics, presenting the country, socializing and networking, which will result in many future projects and cooperation.
