Workshop was held with the aim of developing strategic plans and strengthening the expert services of the University of Sarajevo

Održana radionica u cilju razvoja strateških planova i jačanja stručnih službi Univerziteta u Sarajevu

Within the framework of the project Research and Innovation Policy Making, Implementation and Support in the Wester Balkans, which was supported by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton as part of the Public Call for - financing of NI-IR projects in 2023, a workshop entitled “Strategic planning and capacity building of professional services of the University of Sarajevo” was held in Konjic from 26 to 28 December 2023.

In the introductory part of the workshop, University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj and vice-rector for scientific research, Prof. Dr. Mirza Dautbašić. The importance of strengthening the capacity of professional services of the University of Sarajevo through activities such as joint workshops was highlighted, all with the aim of harmonizing activities and their efficient operation.

In the second part of the workshop, Vice-Rector for Quality, Prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković presented the plan and current activities of departmental teams on the development of the Development Strategy of the University of Sarajevo for the period 2024-2028. years, while the Vice-Rector for Finance, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović presented the strategic project of the University of Sarajevo “Open research network of the University of Sarajevo: Strengthening of common scientific research infrastructure, technology transfer and cooperation with the private sector.”

The focus of the workshop was on the improvement and harmonization of activities related to strategic planning at the University of Sarajevo, as well as on other contents that are important for its activity. The workshop served as a review of the defined strategic goals of the University of Sarajevo in the coming period, and the identification of operational goals and activities aimed at progress and achieving a higher level of quality in all directions of the University's activities. The conclusions reached during the workshop represent a vision for activities aimed at improving teaching programs, increasing the number of students, improving conditions for research work, maintaining financial stability, improving infrastructure, and contributing to strengthening the capacity of professional services in order to realize the planned operational activities as successfully as possible.

The moderator was Prof. Dr. Maja Arslanagić-Kalajdžić, director of the Center for Research and Development, and M.Sc. Azemina Njuhović, Assistant for Science of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, vice-chancellors of the University of Sarajevo, and managers and representatives of the professional services of the University of Sarajevo’s Rectorate.
