International Relations and Diplomacy at the Faculty of Political Sciences Dept. Students at the Italian Chairmanship over OSCE Closing Ceremony
On Friday, 7 December 2018, students of the second year of undergraduate and first and second years of master studies at the Department of Political Science at the Department for International Relations and Diplomacy, led by Professor Kenan Dautović and assistant Jasmin Hasanović, were guests of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina at a ceremony marking the closure of the Italian presidency over the OSCE in 2018.
The students were addressed by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Bruce G. Berton, and Nicola Minasi, Ambassador of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina, who presented the activities undertaken in the past period.
The central part of the event was the screenings of two documentaries. The film “Pistoletto a Sarajevo” (Pistoletto in Sarajevo) dedicated to the promotion of cultural diplomacy between the Republic of Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and was made in the production of the Italian Embassy on the occasion and this year's visit of Michelangelo Pistoletto Sarajevo. The second film "Maglaj - War and Peace" produced by the OSCE in Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered one participant in the past war - Serb, Bosniak and Croat - who spoke about their personal experiences in the conflict, and saw the futility of everything. The film, whose screenplay and attendance, was their opportunity to warn future generations of their own mistakes so that they would not be repeated.
Both films opened a critical and very interesting discussion between the ambassador and the actors of the last film from one, and students on the other.
