Call for Papers for the EUPeace Teaching Europe Conference 2026

The call for papers is now open for the third edition of the international EUPeace Teaching Europe Conference, entitled “Sustainable Futures,” which will take place on 16 and 17 November 2026 at the University of Mostar.

The conference will explore how sustainability is taught and communicated across different academic, scientific and professional fields. Particular emphasis will be placed on connecting sustainability with peace, justice, social cohesion, human rights, democratic resilience, remembrance culture, conflict transformation, reconciliation and intercultural dialogue.

The call is open to teachers, researchers and students from all disciplines. Proposals may address the implementation of education for sustainable development in higher education, cooperation between universities and local communities, the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals into study programmes, and student participation in sustainability-related projects and initiatives.

The deadline for submissions is 20 September 2026, and applicants will be notified of acceptance by 1 October 2026.

Abstracts should be between 300 and 500 words and include the paper title, authors’ names, up to five keywords and no more than five references. Applicants should specify their preferred participation format—panel, round table or poster—and submit the document in Word format.

Participation in the conference requires both registration and the separate submission of an abstract through the platforms specified in the call. The organisers also plan to publish the conference proceedings, with an additional call for extended abstracts to follow.

Submissions from students are particularly encouraged, including presentations of experiences gained through student challenges, summer and winter schools, community-based projects and other sustainability-related activities.
