On Monday, 3 February 2020, at 20:00, a theological forum “Between Religion and Religious Activism” will be held at the UNSA Faculty of Catholic Theology. The guest lecturer is Prof. Dr. Josip Jozić OFM (Franciscan Theology in Sarajevo), moderated by Doz. Dr. Oliver Jurišić. The forum is held as a part of the annual program “Religious Practice and Political Activism.”

A brief introduction to the topic:
The concept of activism in itself is very complex. Originally it concerned the understanding of collective behavior and political activity. Later in 1960s, it was seen as organized action by a group of people to improve social conditions. At about the same time, in the US this term is beginning to be perceived more as a rational and democratically acceptable protest and appeal opportunity.

Nowadays, many religious activism forms also mention the religious one. The central question we are interested in here is at all the possibility of an activism that would be completely devoid of political background and content. Is it possible to build such activism solely on the abstract and universal ideas of religion, or is politics the fate of every activism, including religious one?
