“Students to students - how my free time can become our time” Workshop
In the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, University of Sarajevo on Tuesday, 2 April 2019, a workshop for students-volunteers of the Office for Student Support (UPS!) was realized. After just a few days of open public invitation, 51 students have been registered, so this is the first in a series of workshops that will be realized for them.
A workshop titled "Students to students - how my free time can become our time" was realized for the first group of student volunteers attended by 20 students from the University of Sarajevo from the Faculty of Philosophy (study programs Special Pedagogy, English and Psychology), Faculty of Political Science , Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Medical Faculty, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Agriculture and Food. The workshop was also attended by Mrs. Anka Izetbegović, Director of the Association of DUGA, and professional associates of the Office.
The meeting with volunteers started with the presentation of the activities of the Office and realized activities, and continued with mutual acquaintance, conversation about expectations and motivation, orientation of volunteers and their educational needs. These activities are an important prerequisite for creating proposals for volunteer activities and programs, as well as the ways of monitoring and supervision in the process of volunteer engagement.
A pleasant atmosphere and a motivating atmosphere could be noticed during the workshop, and with the cup of coffee and tea exchanged enough information and warm words that everyone wanted to see again as soon as possible at a new meeting. The workshop was moderated by Doz. Dr. Sandra Bjelan-Guska, a member of the professional team of the Office for Student Support at the University of Sarajevo.
