A visit by Faculty of Administration students to Gazi Husrev-bey's Library

Faculty of Administration - Associate Members of the University of Sarajevo fourth year students visited the Gazi Husrev-bey Library. On this occasion, students saw valuable manuscripts and library material that this library carefully preserves under their roof. During the visit, students learned a lot of about the historical development and activities of this institution, and visited its archive.
Gazi Husrev-bey's library dates back to his madrasah from 1537, and on the date of its establishment, it is considered the 26 Rajab 943, respectively 8 January 1537
The Gazi Husrev-bey Library currently has about one hundred thousand library units (manuscripts, printed books, journals and various documents) in Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Bosnian and some other European languages. Of these more than 10,500 library units, there are manuscript codices with about 20,000 major and minor works from Islamic sciences, Oriental languages, fine literature, philosophy, logic, history, medicine, veterinary science, mathematics, astronomy and other sciences.
Gazi Husrev-bey's library presents a treasure trove of oriental culture and wisdom, a book and a book of invaluable value.
Today, it is a specialized Oriental library in which scientific knowledge about cultural heritage is preserved, primarily from the Ottoman age.
These are extremely valuable sources for studying the economic and cultural history of the peoples of this region over a period of over 400 years. The Library Fund has 100,000 books, manuscripts, various documents.
