University of Sarajevo: Higher education for all - Study programs for Generation Z, as well as the 60+ generations
In the period 26 - 29 September 2023, 33 EAIE conferences and higher education exhibitions were held in Rotterdam (Netherlands), with more than 6700 participants from more than 100 countries. The University of Sarajevo was presented by the vice-rector for international cooperation, Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš. At the conference itself, new ways of transferring knowledge were presented, so lectures were held in the form of classic lectures, online lectures, panel discussions, speed networking and “scout fires.”
The lectures covered all trends in higher education and the needs of society today. The plenary lecture was dedicated to Generation Z, the specifics of the way of learning and the needs of this generation, which should take over the "world" and which makes up the student population today. Speakers Jahkini Bisselink and Hajar Yagkoubi held a plenary lecture on Generation Z and pointed out that the education sector must take care of them. It is interesting that at the same conference the growing trend of universities of the third age (60+) was discussed. Also, one of the important topics addressed through the panel discussion was the policy of higher education in the EU.
During the conference itself, over twenty foreign institutions of higher education and non-governmental organizations expressed interest in cooperation with the University of Sarajevo.
