After the adoption of the new Law on Higher Education in Sarajevo Canton, the University of Sarajevo has taken a number of steps that will ultimately ensure better integration of the University with the labor market. The Law on Higher Education envisages the establishment of cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Employment Service of the Sarajevo Canton, the Chamber of Commerce of the Sarajevo Canton and the Association of Employers of Sarajevo Canton, among other things because of the need to obtain information and to provide opportunities for practical training in legal entities in the public and private sectors , as well as working together on adapting learning outcomes to the needs of the labor market.
The University of Sarajevo's commitment to broaden networking with all actors in society is emphasized as a starting point for cooperation, and then visible results as a product of joint initiatives and work. The University of Sarajevo should bind to the economy through joint projects, providing its knowledge to the economy on the one hand and including the economy in its scientific and teaching projects. The connection with the economy should be two-way, in which the University of Sarajevo should ensure the acquisition of practical knowledge and skills of its students, and ultimately offer better quality future personnel to the market.
