The International Relations Office of the University of Sarajevo, in collaboration with vice-deans and coordinators for international cooperation from its member institutions, launched a series of calls for reciprocal mobility during the winter semester of the 2024/2025 academic year and ensured the admission of international students for the summer semester of 2024/2025.
In the summer semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, 67 international students have the opportunity to stay at the University of Sarajevo. To mark this occasion, a Welcome Day was organized today for students arriving from 40 higher education institutions across 17 European countries, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Croatia, Italy, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Romania, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
The students were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Kemal Durić, who wished them success in their studies, emphasizing that the student years are the most beautiful period of life and encouraging them to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the University of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Representatives of the International Relations Office also addressed the students, introducing them to the University of Sarajevo and the city of Sarajevo and providing them with academic, administrative, and practical information to help them navigate their stay more easily.
In collaboration with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), international students have been paired with local students (buddies) to facilitate their transition and adaptation in Sarajevo.
To ensure that students regulate their residence permit on time, a dedicated session will be organized the following day. Representatives from the International Relations Office will assist students in gathering the necessary documents and completing the registration process.
International students will stay at the University of Sarajevo until the end of July 2025, when they will complete their academic obligations. The International Relations Office expresses its hope that students will achieve positive academic results and experience unforgettable moments in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
