“Synthetic Biology: An Introduction” Presentation Held
On October 11, 2018, the UNSA Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences hosted iGEM team student representatives team from Thessaloniki (Greece), who organized a presentation “Synthetic Biology: An Introduction” as a part of the visit. This presentation is part of the project activities “Synbalkans Tour” aiming at informing and affirmation of students, as well as teaching staff about the importance and possibilities of using synthetic biology in different fields of activity. The presentation contained basic information related to the synthetic biology terminology, previous projects in this field, and finally information on the iGEM international competition, which brings together more than 250 teams each year and more than 6,000 participants.
