Round Table Held and Partnership Protocol Signed

The "Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University Faculty of Philosophy hosted on 21 November, a round table “Strengthening the capacity and Western Balkans resources in the migration crises conditions.” In addition to the Faculty of Philosophy, organizers of the event were University of Sarajevo Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies and the University of Velika Gorica from Croatia.

The round table was organized in order to present the organization of the International Summer School “Management in the migrant crises conditions” planned to be held in June 2018 by the UNSA Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies in collaboration with higher education institutions from Macedonia and Croatia, in Skopje and Gevgelija.

This event was attended by representatives of the academic community in Macedonia, representatives of the national Macedonian institutions: Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, National Coordination Center for Border Management, State Administration for Protection and Rescue, Crisis Management Center, US Embassy in Macedonia representatives, as well as numerous international and national NGOs.

In addition to the Director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, Fahrudin Solak, the presence of the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Macedonia, H.E. LEpa Babić was of particular importance. Mrs. Lepa Babić, strongly supported both this event on behalf of our country, and the future planned activities by the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies in Macedonia. Ambassador Babić at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Skopje on 22 November 2017 hosted the official signing of the Protocol on Partnership organized by the International Summer School between the UNSA Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies and the "Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University Faculty of Philosophy from Skopje.

The Protocol on Cooperation was signed by the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies Dean - Prof. Dr. Nedžad Korajlić and "Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University Faculty of Philosophy Dean - Prof. Dr. Ratko Duev.

After the signing, BH Ambassador H. E. Lepa Babić, Deans Korajlić and Duev, as well as Director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, Mr. Fahrudin Solak, who also attended the signing, expressed their satisfaction with the Protocol signing and cooperation establishing for those two higher education institutions.

The International Summer School is a new, multidisciplinary academic program of lifelong education on the topic “Management in the migrant crises conditions.” The signing took place on the margins of the conference on "Strengthening capacities and resources in the migrant crisis conditions at the Western Balkans” that was held in Skopje.

Administrations of both Faculties also held the first working meeting on 22 November 2017in order to develop an academic lifelong learning program “International Summer School - Management in the Conditions of Migrant Crises” which, to the satisfaction of all present, was extremely successful and on which an action plan was agreed and specific tasks were assigned.
