Promotion of the Institute's publications in Konjic
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at the Gallery of the National University of the Culture Center in Konjic, the presentation of the publications of the Language Institute from 2017 was held, with a discussion on the Bosnian language and the Bosnian language tradition. In front of the association “Seyfullah”, Mr. Benjamin Mušinović, as the host of the event, greeted the audience, and announced the Director of the Language Institute, dr. Alen Kalajdžija.
Director Kalajdžija talked about the near-past and future activities of the Language Institute and the history of the Institute's work and its present status. He emphasized the principle of openness and tolerance as an important principle of Institute's action. Mr. Zenaida Karavdić talked about the importance of the Bosnian dialectological journal and its place in the wider South Slavic context, presenting the current issue (No. XI), and then spoke about the relationship between the Bosnian and Persian languages through the book Word of Persian Origin in the Bosnian language by Dženita Haverić and Amela Šehović. Ivana Tomić, MA, presented the Proceedings “Letter on Hamza Humo”, mentioning the cooperation of the Institute with the Faculty of Humanities in Mostar, and presented the content of the current issue of the Institute's journal Književni jezik. Dr. Jasmin Hodžić reflected on the relation of social reality to natural data, talking about administrative and legal procedures that can destructively affect the occurrences in nature and society, fitting this story in the story of the book of Amina Pehlić “The Language of Alija Nametak”. Also, through the narrative of the book of Erma Ramić-Kunić “The Čajniče Gospel” dr. Hodžić talked about cultural and linguistic Bosnian characteristics in the Middle Ages, and about the Bosnian linguistic heritage whose continuity can be traced through the centuries.
