Importance and role of public law in the BH EU integration process
On Monday, 15 January 2018, the University of Sarajevo was visited by the Deputy Director of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) and special envoy for the Balkans and the Black Sea countries, retired ambassador Karolos Gadis, and met with the University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj and his associates.
During the meeting, the importance and the role of public law in the process of BH EU integration process was discussed, as well as on the successful cooperation so far, within which the Memorandum of Understanding between the European Organization for Public Law (EPLO) and the University in Sarajevo was signed and the lecture European Vision in Bosnia and Herzegovina and EPLO given by the EPLO Director, Prof. Dr. Spyridon Flogaitis.
During the meeting, Mr. Gadis presented the history and work of the EPLO organization, and stated that EPLO was established in 2007 in Athens (Greece), as a continuation of the European Public Law Center [EPLC], an international non-profit institution, established in 1995. To date, EPLO has developed, organized, promoted and supported more than 200 educational, research, institutional and other activities and provided assistance to democratic institutions in more than 70 countries. Mr. Gadis also presented the contribution of EPLO to the process of legal reform and institution building in BiH in the past period, as well as the planned activities for the next period.
