Department of Mechanical Production Engineering Study Visit to Companies and B&H Institute
In December 2024, the Department of Mechanical Production Engineering at the University of Sarajevo organized three study visits to prestigious companies and institutes, providing students and faculty with valuable practical experience.
Visit to Igman Konjic
On 24 December 2024, third-year students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Mechanical Production Engineering (MPI), visited Igman Konjic as part of their course on Fundamentals of Deformation Processing. Representatives from Igman, a company with 70 years of experience in both domestic and international markets, showcased their production facilities, focusing on deformation processing technologies. This visit also included students from the University of Džemal Bijedić in Mostar, fostering mutual acquaintance between the institutions.
Visit to the Institute for Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina
On 18 December 2024, students from the same department visited the Institute for Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBiH) as part of their course on Production Measurement Techniques. Accompanied by Associate Professor Almir Softić, they explored the state laboratories that ensure traceability at the international level. The visit was facilitated by IMBiH staff, including former students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who provided insights into metrology and measurement.
Visit to GS-Tvornica Mašina in Travnik
On 12 December 2024, master's students from the Mechanical Production Engineering department visited GS-Tvornica Mašina in Travnik. Accompanied by professors Ismar Hajro and Petar Tasić, they were welcomed by this exemplary company known for its hospitality and commitment to social responsibility. The students learned about the company's development and advancements in production technologies, quality assurance, and welding processes.
These visits not only enhanced the students' understanding of practical applications in their field but also strengthened ties between academia and industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina and we therefore express our gratitude.
