In the period when it is necessary to decide on enrolling at the appropriate Faculty/Academy, the Academy of Fine Arts organizes the “Open Day Days” on 13 April 2018, 9 to 11. The aim of this event is to inform high school students, parents and teachers about the curricula offered by the University of Sarajevo’s Academy of Fine Arts as well as its spatial capacities.

The Academy of Fine Arts is a higher education institution with the longest tradition in BiH that provides education and training in the field of fine arts. In addition to the basic educational activities, in its 40 years the Academy organized a number of significant cultural and artistic programs events, exhibitions and lectures. The Academy organized and participated in numerous artistic and scientific research projects, contributing to the cultural and artistic reality of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In an effort to meet the European criteria of artistic education, the emphasis is on permanent innovation and enrichment of curricula in the spirit of contemporary social development and art development and trends in higher education.

Within the interdisciplinary study “Conservation and Restoration”, students are offered different groups of elective subjects. The teaching process takes place in six departments: Teaching, Painting, Sculpture, Graphics, Graphic Design, Product Design. Spatial capacities of the Academy - classrooms, laboratories, studios, workshops, galleries, libraries, multimedia spaces - provide quality teaching and artistic activities.

Each of the aforementioned Departments and study programs develops creative potentials, aesthetic sensibility, and enables students to work in art and production according to the European criteria of artistic education. The Academy’s alumni have been trained to take a leading role on art, design and culture, both in BiH and abroad, and many of them have gained world-renowned awards for artistic and design achievements and contribute to the reputation of this institution.
