Welcome Day Organized for Foreign Students at the University of Sarajevo
The University of Sarajevo International Cooperation Department developed an orientation program aiming to introduce the history of the University of Sarajevo as well as the history, tradition, culture and customs of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina to visiting students and faculty members and provide them with all the necessary academic and practical information. Within the orientation program, a Welcome Day was organized foreign students and faculty members in the 2018/2019 a.y. winter semester at the University of Sarajevo Rectorate on 1 October 2018. Foreign students were presented with the necessary academic and practical information, had the opportunity to meet the BH students from the University of Sarajevo who also participated in the exchange projects, will tour the major tourist destinations of the City of Sarajevo and our country.
With the beginning of the 2018/2019 a.y. winter semester, there are 46 foreign students, academic and administrative staff members at the University of Sarajevo. It is about scholarship alumni from various European Commission funded mobility programs, such as Erasmus+, CEEPUS, MEVLANA, Visegrad Fund, and bilateral co-operation agreements between our and partner universities. The duration of their stay in our country ranges from one semester (5 months) to an academic year (10 months). We are pleased to announce that we host this year the first Japanese student who will spend an academic year at the UNSA Faculty of Political Sciences.
