Visit of the delegation of the French Institute to the University of Sarajevo

In order to strengthen cooperation between French and Bosnian higher education institutions, the delegation in front of the French Institute at the Embassy of the Republic of France visited the Office for International Cooperation of the University of Sarajevo. From the French Institute came Mr. Sylvain Rigollet, Attaché for Cooperation, and Mrs. Željka Divković, expert associate for culture and public relations and responsible person for Campus France. In front of the University of Sarajevo, the delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš, Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Adnan Rahimić, MSc, Senior Expert Associate for International Cooperation.

The meeting focused on the cooperation so far, both between the French Institute and the University of Sarajevo, and through bilateral and multilateral cooperation with French educational institutions. A cross-section of the state of cooperation was presented, where we currently have active cooperation with 14 French universities through Erasmus + KA107 or bilateral agreements (https://international.unsa.ba/sporedumi-i-mreze/).

Mr. Rigollet mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France is interested in financing joint international projects that would connect BiH universities with French universities, and started many projects that contribute to capacity building and international mobility.

We also looked at previous joint projects, such as the French University Fair, Staff Training Week and Scholarship Fair (where they were actively involved), which due to the corona virus pandemic have not been able to take place for the last year and a half. The desire was expressed to intensify this cooperation through the virtual world and to continue the successful implementation of projects of activities that connect the French and BiH higher education areas.
