University of Sarajevo | The Faculty of Philosophy and the Helen Doron School signed a Memorandum of Cooperation
On 28 December 2023, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Sarajevo was signed of the Faculty of Philosophy and two branches of the Helen Doron School (Novo Sarajevo and Alipašino), which officially started the cooperation between these two educational institutions with the aim of exchanging experiences and knowledge, promoting good practices, innovative solutions, approaches and strategies in the field of early learning, adoption and teaching English language for children of preschool and early school age.
This memorandum will enable postgraduate students of the Department of English who specialize in the teaching profession to acquire additional practical knowledge in the field of early learning and English language teaching through the implementation of field exercises, in cooperation with the lecturers of the Helen Doron School.
The goal of this collaboration is to raise awareness of the importance of the existence of specific competencies of English language teachers who teach children of preschool and early school age, with the aim of initiating a series of activities that would improve the quality of this type of teaching staff in practice.
The memorandum on cooperation was signed by the Faculty of Philosophy Dean, Prof. Dr. Kenan Šljivo and Mrs. Renata Herenda, director of Helen Doron branches in Novo Sarajevo and Alipašino, with the presence of the vice-dean for scientific research and international cooperation, Doz. Dr. Minke Džanko, head of the Department of English, Prof. Dr. Selma Đuliman and the head of the Language Department, Prof. Dr. Nejla Kalajdžisalihović. The coordinators of this project in front of the Department of English are Prof. Dr. Melisa Okičić and Prof. Dr. Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić.
