Thursday: Broadcast concert Contemporaries - new works by Bosnian composers
The Association of Composers - Music Composers (AMUS), in cooperation with the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo and Hayat TV, has launched a new and very important initiative for the development of Bosnian composers. By deciding to dedicate this year to the development of symphonic music, AMUS becomes the holder of the first post-war, strategically designed one-year project of its kind, which resulted in the production of ten new works by contemporary Bosnian composers to be presented to the general public on 25 November 2021, marking the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The repertoire of the concert Contemporaries - New Works by Bosnian Composers, which will be broadcast live by Hayat TV from the House of the Armed Forces of BiH, on 25 November at 20:00, will include ten premieres. All works will be performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo under the conductor Emir Mejremić.
The concert will be opened with the multimedia composition Moving Landscape Glitched for symphony orchestra and live interactive video by Alisher Sijarić, where Irfan Brković participated in the realization of the video segment, while Marko Jovančić is responsible for photography and animation, after which Krajina sketches by Mladen Janković will be performed. Bright Earth by Igor Karača, Necropolis by David Mastikosa, Suite for Syrbet Orchestra by Šerbet Hajrudin Muhić, Machiavellian Hypomania by Hanan Hadžajlić, Forged by Dina Rešidbegović, Symphonic Rhapsody by Toni Toplan, Machina in Dubio for symphony orchestra by Emila Buć In addition to the MAS Symphony Orchestra, soloists violinist Marko Simović and cellist Belma Alić will also take part in the performance.
