Signed contracts, million BAM for research activities support in 2018

Cantonal Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Prof. Dr. Elvir Kazazović signed contracts on 5 October 2018 with heads of Faculties and Institutes at the University of Sarajevo, representatives of the National and University Library of BiH and associations/foundations as winners of funds for co-financing research projects of special interest for Sarajevo Canton in 2018.
When it comes to the University of Sarajevo, the Minister emphasized that all forms of support the Sarajevo Canton provides to the University as the founder in this period, the most significant is the acquisition of the founding rights of the Canton over the University.
The signing of the contract was attended by University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, who expressed his satisfaction with the efforts and commitment of competent educational authorities to invest in research and higher education, which contributes to the development, improvement and social positioning of the University of Sarajevo.
On this occasion it was emphasized that in the Sarajevo Canton Budget for this year funds were provided for support to scientific-research activity in the amount of 1 million BAM.
The Ministry has directed the funds to training staff for scientific and research work, training of scientific research staff, development and introduction of new scientific research infrastructure, as well as stimulation of scientific and research and research-development projects of interest for Canton Sarajevo and development of scientific research activity.
