Promoting Sarajevo as a regional and European university center project

Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka met on in the City Hall with rectors of universities operating in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina 28 November 2018 to discuss the further implementation the project of promoting Sarajevo as a regional and European university center.
In addition to the City of Sarajevo delegation, University of Sarajevo Rector, Rifat Škrijelj, International University of Sarajevo Rector, Ahmet Yildirim, and Sarajevo School of Science and Technology Rector, Vjekoslav Domljan, attended the meeting.
Mayor Skaka presented the promoting project that would be realized through the joint appearance of the City and universities at the national and international levels in the education, science, culture and arts fields.
The project will be realized through the organization of joint study programs in English in cooperation with universities with higher education institutions from the Sarajevo sister cities.
The planned joint study programs, which would offer a double diploma, would attract to Sarajevo students from the region, Europe and the world.
Participants showed interest in participating in the project and an agreed plan for the continuation of joint action was agreed. During the meeting it was emphasized that this project will be of great importance for the City of Sarajevo, higher education, and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.
