As part of the UNIGEM project at the UNSA Faculty of Political Sciences, the book “Feminism and Religion in the 21st Century” promoted
On 26 September 2023, a promotion of a book “Feminism and Religion in the 21st Century,” whose editors Gina Messina-Dysert and Rosamary Radford Radford Ruether, took place at the UNSA Faculty of Political Sciences.
The book was promoted by Mr. Sc. Đermana Kurić and Prof. Dr. Pavle Mijović, and the promotion was moderated by Mr. Sc. Adnan Rondić. The event together was organized by the TPO Foundation and the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo, with the TPO Foundation as part of the UNIGEM project also provided translating this book from English and its stamp.
“Feminism and Religion in the 21st Century“ brings sixteen essays and a large number of different topics. “Various authors write about transformation effects of communication technologies, internet, blogs and social media, such as Twitter and Facebook, in communities of women and men dealing with religion and feminism. Women are extremely involved in the digital world because they dominate blogs and represent most of the total social media users. These media break the borders, communicate globally and through numerous divisions, and allow women to deal with different issues, starting from their own experience.” So it can be said that the essays presented in this collection encourage us to see "transformative opportunities that, thanks to the technology of social media, have been provided to people, and especially women.”
