New “Bosniaca” issue
On 5 February 2020, a new issue of the magazine “Bosniaca” was presented at the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Bosniaca“ is a journal of the National and University Library of BiH published once a year. It publishes original vocational and scientific papers, material of importance for the renewal of the collections of the NUB of BiH and for the library profession as a whole. This BiH professional journal in the field of librarianship is indexed in several international databases: Web of Science, EBSCO-CEEAS, The Belt and Road Initiative Reference Source (EBSCO), INDEX COPERNICUS, Slavic Humanities Index, and is available in ROAD (Directory of Open Access scholarly Resources) and CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library), and in Hrčak as well as at KOBSON.
The editor-in-chief, director of the National and University Library of BiH, Dr. Ismet Ovčina, Prof. Dr. Sci. Aleksandra Horvat, a member of the Croatian Library Association and long-time professor of the Department of Librarianship at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, as well as professors from the Department of Comparative Literature and Librarianship at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Senada Dizdar and Academician, Prof. Dr. Dževad Karahasan spoke about the magazine.
Dr. Ovčina expressed his satisfaction that, despite the conditions in which the Library operates, NUBBiH was able to issue another number of Bosniaks. He pointed out that “Bosniaca“ is a recognizable magazine in BiH that talks about the library profession. He emphasized that the new issue of the magazine covers a number of current topics in the domain of library and information system, documented heritage, information and services in the new technological system.
Prof. Dr. Sci. Aleksandra Horvat addressed the audience, expressing her satisfaction that she was a member of the international editorial office for many years, and spoke about the jobs and challenges facing the editorial staff of every serious magazine in creating and designing a new issue.
Prof. Dr. Senada Dizdar gave an expert review of all the articles, pointing out that this issue of the magazine, in addition to the articles, also makes interesting contributions.
This new issue contains 16 reviewed and professional papers as well as four reviews. As in the previous issue, this paper also provides papers that vary thematically from historical topics, through the organization of information, to the measurement of the organizational performance of higher education libraries.
Academician, Prof. Dr. Dževad Karahasan among other things emphasized the importance of the existence of such a journal for the library profession and pointed to the unbreakable link between the Library and the Hall that is on the cover of every issue of the Bosnian magazine.
The promotion was attended by the promoters and authors of published articles, representatives of the academic community, library staff from libraries of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a large number of interested citizens.
