A Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University of Sarajevo and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton
The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, Canton Sarajevo was held on 12 March 2019 at the University of Sarajevo Rectorate.
Memorandum of Cooperation, signed by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector, and Mr. Sc. Zineta Bogunić, Minister of Education, Science and Youth, was finalized in order to regulate the performance of visiting, methodical and pedagogical practice as a form of practical teaching in teacher study programs as well as other forms of professional practice at the University of Sarajevo.
Rector Škrijelj expressed his satisfaction over the signed Memorandum of Cooperation, which created formal conditions for the fact that what has been individually negotiated with schools by the faculties that educate teachers for teaching professions will now be realized in an integral form. With gratitude to the Ministry for the support it has so far, Rector Škrijelj emphasized that the University of Sarajevo completes and extends this cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth KS.
Minister Bogunić pointed out that the signing of this memorandum was undertaken with the desire to improve the communication between the University and the Ministry, i.e. Faculties of education and Schools. She emphasized that the main goal is to improve the quality of student learning, and that there should be more student practice at faculty of education.
The signing of this Memorandum is an indicator of both openness and willingness to cooperate, as well as highly developed awareness of the need for continuous joint work with the aim of training as much as possible teaching staff, but also for the benefit and benefit of students.
Today's event was also an opportunity for the media representatives to talk with the Rector on important topics such as cooperation and joint activities of the University and the Ministry, Law on Higher Education of the Canton Sarajevo, financial and legal integration of the University of Sarajevo, solution of the heating issue in the University Campus, relocation of the Faculty health studies, the completion of the Academy of Performing Arts building, the announcement of tenders for the construction of the University Library in the University Campus, the process of accreditation of higher education institutions in BiH, and other current issues related to the University of Sarajevo and its organizational units.
The signing was attended by Dr. Sci. Murat Ramadanović, University of Sarajevo Steering Committee Chairman, Steering Committee members, Vice-Rectors, Deans and representatives of University of Sarajevo Faculties, Mr. Sifet Kukuruz, Assistant Minister for Higher Education, Science and Youth.
