Meetings with the Aim of Improving the Internationalization Process at the University of Sarajevo
In order to improve the internationalization process at the University of Sarajevo, review activities in this area, and point out the potential difficulties encountered by students, teaching and non-teaching staff when it comes to international mobility, the UNSA Office for International Cooperation headed by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš organized online meetings with vice deans and coordinators for international cooperation with (sub) organizational units/ University of Sarajevo members.
Meetings were organized separately with each group, so on 26 November 2020, a meeting was organized with the Arts, the Social Sciences and the Humanities Groups, and on 27 November, a meeting was held with the Medical, the Natural and Biotechnology Sciences and the Technical Sciences Groups.
The meetings’ agenda included the following topics:
- mobility implementation in the summer semester 2020/2021,
- application of University of Sarajevo (sub)organizational units for international projects,
- defining the status of students and staff who can apply for open competitions,
- recognizing the results achieved by UNSA members and potentially revising the Rulebook.
- flow of exchange information,
- support to organizational units by the Service for International Cooperation.
In addition to the mentioned topics, the focus of the meetings was on the planned implementation of mobility in the next semester, i.e. consideration of the epidemiological conditions that the whole of Europe and the world are facing. Also, the emphasis was on predicting future mobility in the “post-covid” time, and the problems and difficulties in recognizing and presenting the results achieved by students after their mobility.
