The Mayor of Sarajevo awarded the City of Sarajevo Laureates with the highest honors of the University of Sarajevo

On 20 December, the Mayor of Sarajevo, Samir Avdić, hosted a ceremonial reception at the City Hall for the best of the best – the recipients of the Golden Badge, Silver Badge, and Charter of the University of Sarajevo for the academic year 2024/2025.
"The City of Sarajevo proudly recognizes you, outstanding young people who possess the knowledge, energy, and potential to shape not only your own future but also the future of our society," said Avdić, congratulating them on their exceptional achievements and presenting the Golden City Badge as a recognition of their effort, dedication, and excellence.
He emphasized that the University of Sarajevo is the foundation of intellectual, cultural, and social development for both the capital city and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"You, its most successful students, represent its most valuable capital. Your success is the success of your families, your professors, but also the success of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina," Avdić stated.
In conclusion, he conveyed: "Keep walking bravely, because Sarajevo is growing, developing, and building its future together with you."
It was also an opportunity for Ida Fazlić, PhD in Chemistry, to address the attendees:
"As the best students, you may feel the pressure to constantly prove yourselves. But true success and leadership are not about overshadowing others — rather, about joining forces and doing something greater than ourselves for the benefit of humanity."
The reception was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo, Mirela Džehverović, the Deputy President of the City Council, Emir Bićo, and the UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović.
