Historic Investment in Education: Construction of the University Library Enters Final Phase

Construction efforts for the University Library on the Campus of the University of Sarajevo, the largest investment project in science in the last three decades, are now in their final phase.
Currently, the concrete works are being finalized, and the completion of all construction activities is scheduled for March of this year. The library is expected to officially open its doors and commence operations in 2026.
Spanning over 7,000 square meters, the new library will feature modern reading rooms, multimedia spaces, digital archives, as well as conference and research activity areas. Considerable attention is being devoted to outfitting the facility with state-of-the-art technology, while also ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
“The University Library on the UNSA campus will be more than just a building; it will symbolize our commitment to education, science, and innovation. This project is crucial for strengthening the academic community and will provide students and researchers from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina with contemporary conditions for work and advancement,” emphasized Nihad Uk, Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, following a tour of the construction site, which was also attended by UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović.
The library is anticipated to become a central hub for scientific and research activities, fostering collaboration between universities, the domestic academic community, and international partners, as well as serving as a key point for promoting scientific achievements and innovations.
