Guitarist Jure Cerkovnik at the UNSA Music Academy
As part of the December repertoire of the 2021/22 Concert Season, also being realized under the auspices of the UNSA Celebratory December Days, a concert by Jure Cerkovnik, one of the most successful guitarists of the younger generation, will be held at the Music Academy on Saturday, 4 December 2021, at 19:00, in the Concert Hall “Cvjetko Rihtman.” Cerkovnik will also hold two-day master workshops for students of the Guitar Department of the UNSA Music Academy.
The concert program will include Suite in A minor, BWV 995 by Johann Sebastian Bach, Introduction and Variations on a Mozart Theme, Op. 9, a composition by Fernando Sora based on the aria “Das klinget so herrlich” from the first act of the opera “The Magic Flute”, as well as Nocturne “Rêverie,” Op. 19 composed by Giulio Regondi, and Five Trifles by William Walton.
Jure Cerkovnik (Slovenia, 1990) graduated in classical guitar in 2013 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the class of prominent guitarist and pedagogue Alvaro Pierri, where he received his master's degree in 2015. The second master's degree in music pedagogy continues at the Zurich University of the Arts in the class of Professor Anders Miolin, graduating in June 2017, while the third master's degree in specialized concert performance is at the same academy in 2019, hired as an assistant, from 2019 as an assistant professor at the PreCollege program, and from 2021 as an assistant professor of guitar.
