Continuity of cooperation between FMON and NUBBiH in the function of supporting the academic community
The National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina has concluded an Agreement on the implementation of the Current Research Information System e-CRIS - information system on research activities in BiH for maintenance and updating in 2021, between the Federal Ministry of Education and Science and the National and University Library of BiH.
Director of NUBBiH, Dr. Ismet Ovčina emphasized that the National and University Library of BiH, as the operator of the e-Cris system in accordance with CERIF standards (Common European Research Information Format), has accepted the obligation to implement the e-CRIS system, and its maintenance and updating in 2021.
He added that the Federal Ministry of Education and Science will finance the regular maintenance of the system, as well as the maintenance of the existing hardware and software of the e-Cris system for the period from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021.
Information system on research activity in Bosnia and Herzegovina E-CRIS.BH (www.ecris.ba) has data for 86 research organizations and 2,183 researchers, as of 31/12/2020.
This system is complementary to the Register of Scientific Institutions, Scientific Staff and Infrastructure Investments in FBiH, and whose system operator has been NUBBiH since 2007, where only last year a total of 54 scientific researchers were registered in the Register, said the Director of NUBBiH.
The National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, as in previous years, provided a significant number of recent editions of scientific and professional literature for all university libraries in the Federation of BiH. “We hope that this support will be greater in the future and that we will be able to reactivate some of our other programs to support the work of libraries, but this is something that is continuity and we are guaranteed to extend it” said Assistant Minister Branković.
Library representatives expressed great gratitude for the significant donation of recent editions of scientific and professional literature.
Also, today was presented the Proceedings - THE IMPORTANCE OF SCIENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS OF PUPILS AND STUDENTS, whose publishers were the Federal Ministry of Education and Science and the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The collection of papers was presented by the Academician, Prof. Dr. Rešid Hafizović, President of the Science Council of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science.
“In the Proceedings, we have proposals not only from local scientists, but also from many young people who came forward and sent their proposals from various scientific destinations, not only in Europe but also in the world. These are values that are of a universal character, which have no national or political sign” Hafizović pointed out.
