Center for Peace Education Hub at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo starts

On Monday, 21 September 2020, on the International Day of Peace, the official opening of the Peace Education Hub will take place. The Hub will operate within the Center for Research and Professional Activities at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. Due to the epidemiological situation, the opening will be organized online, in the form of a webinar attended by representatives of the Faculty of Philosophy, academic partners of the Center for Peace Education from the University of Sussex, the University of Rwanda and the University of Los Andes in Colombia, then partners of the Center in civil society such as Forum ZFD (BiH) and Facing History and Ourselves (USA) as well as many other educators. As part of the webinar, dr. Sara Clarke Habibi will give a lecture on Education for peace in BiH: scoping new horizons in teaching, education and research, after which a discussion of all participants is planned.

In the period from 22 to 25 September 2020, a four-day online seminar will be held for members of the coordination team of the Center for Peace Education and for partners and educators within the network of the Center. The seminar on Facing History and Ourselves (FHAO): teacher practices, strategies and methodologies will be led by Karen Murphy, Director of International Strategy at FHAO, and will present the specific methodology of this international organization dealing with education and professional development through dealing with all. education participants with the dangers of racism, anti-Semitism and prejudice in general.
