BH Public Universities Rectors Signed the “Mostar Agreement”
The Agreement on Mutual Understanding and Cooperation between Universities within the Rectors’ Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed at the conference session within the University of Mostar Day.
Public universities rectors have jointly agreed and signed cooperation in the form of mutual visits, consultations of teachers and scientists, organization of scientific gatherings and conferences, and promotion of universal academic values. Together, they will implement higher education reform in order to meet the preconditions for active and full participation in the European Research and Academic Area. Cooperation in the exchange of scientific information and publications has been agreed, as well as the mobility of teachers, associates, researchers and students at all levels. In addition, the rectors considered the initiative to amend the Framework Law on Higher Education.
The Rectors’ Assembly of BiH calls on the competent authorities (the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH) to speed up the procedures for selecting and appointing new management and the Steering Board of the Agency for Higher Education Development and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Assembly gives full support to the public appearances of the University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj regarding the expressed doubts about the objectivity of evaluation, i.e. accreditation of certain private universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
